The beautiful Yasawa Islands are famous because they were twice the setting for the movie, The Blue Lagoon, but they are also home to very large GTs (Giant Trevally) and many other species of fish which can be caught by casting surface lures. Anglers Paradise Ltd., operate a regular fishing safari which begins either from the Anglers Paradise marina or, if clients prefer from the Yasawa Islands once clients have been transferred by sea plane from Nadi. The base in the Yasawa Islands is Orsman's Bay Lodge which is sited on the very edge of the Blue Lagoon fringed by a beautiful white sandy beach, flowering shrubs and coconut palm trees.
This is a very friendly and relaxed Lodge owned and operated by a Fijian chief who likes to make his guests welcome and also entertains them in the evenings as the lead singer in a string band. The safari includes the charter of one or two boats to cater for parties of up to 8 (eight) anglers at one time. Fishing is on a catch and release basis with options for anglers to bring own fishing rods, reels and lures or to hire from the company. This is both a rewarding experience and superb GT fishing opportunity.
The beautiful setting for Orsman's Bay Lodge, Yasawa Islands, is base for Anglers Paradise Fishing Safaris. The islands are home to some tremendous GT (giant trevally) fishing with surface lures as well as fishing for many other species of fish. |
